A note about the Images...

I know the Image quality on the blog is, well...how can I put this? Crap.
This is probably because they are WAY too big and I post them from my Ipod, and Ipod > Computer isn't the most ideal situation. I will try my best to make the quality better, but in the meantime if any of you have a solution to the problem, please let me know! :)

Thanks x

Closed season blues...

Over the closed season, I will probably be doing an Alton Towers Merch collection post and other random stuff, as there probably won't be any huge news...

Alton Towers Retro Souvenir Truck!

Hey everyone!
So a couple of days ago I ordered an Alton Towers Mini Toy Truck and it finally arrived! It's quite awesome. On the back it says 1987 and it has a really old logo on it, but it seems to be brand new, so I almost sure that it is a replica, but it only cost £1.25 (with free p&p too), so it's not really a problem. I can't remember the seller I got it from, but if you just type 'Alton Towers' on eBay and then refine the search to just memorabilia, it should come up. There is another one for £1.99 with £2.00 p&p but keep scrolling down for the cheaper one, because I think that they are exactly the same. It is a great AT collectors item, and a good Christmas gift for the Towers Nerd in your life. (They didn't pay me to say that!) :)

Happy Shopping. :)

Nemesis - What lies Beneath

Since this blog was set up after the end of the 2011 season and after the big news has been announced, I thought that I may as well explain about the new attraction for 2012.
Basically, Alton Towers had applied for planning permission for a new ride at the park. It would be situated at the site of the Lava Lump climbing wall, and would go underground by 6 meters. The plans show a baggage kiosk, a pre-ride area, a main ride chamber and a post-ride area. There had been some speculation that the new attraction would be a scare maze or a drop tower, but a lot a people had guessed by the plans that this ride would be a drop tower, however that has not been confirmed.

On the run-up to Scarefest, as part of their Scarefest countdown, AT released the Scarefest 2011 park map which showed the first glimpses of this new ride. The ride, what is currently known as 'Nemesis - What lies beneath?', is going to be carrying on the story, and legend, of Nemesis in this new attraction. The ride has been dubbed 'psychologically' thrilling, and it even has its own 'Director of Fear', Jack Osbourne, who will make sure that the ride is as scary as possible. It has been suggested that there will be heart rate monitors at the exit of the ride, to see just how scary this ride is.

Personally, I do agree with the idea of the drop tower, because I don't see why you would need a baggage kiosk for a scare maze. However, I may be wrong. As for the heart monitors? It has publicity stunt written all over it. They said that there would be an age limit on Th13teen, and a special 'One ride per visit' pledge, which didn't happen, then again, I could be wrong. Because of Th13teen, us Towers Nerds have now been able to know when AT are telling the truth, and taking the mic. Also, I heard a few weeks ago, just as AT was closing for 2011, that the ride name will be announced in the coming months, which suggests that its current ID is not permanent. At least, I hope not. A ride name has to be short for the ride to be good. If the ride is crap, they will increase the size of the rides name, just to try and blind you with words. In addition to that, I'm just adding to the speculation here, but if this ride was really given to Nemesis because it won the 'All Time Greats' comp, then what could the unreleased plans for the other rides be? In my opinion, I think AT had this ride planned well before the ATG comp, either because they secretly knew Nemesis would win (Believe me, you didn't need to be a rocket scientist to work that out) or maybe the ATG comp had nothing to do with the decision. What you you guys think?

Comment below, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

One thing is for sure about this ride, we don't want another let down.

This blog is going to be mainly Alton Towers, but any news you don't want to read, just ignore it and wait for the next batch of news!
